I have been so busy with the art direction gig, getting ready for the baby and freelancing. Not to mention doing alot of work and putting in alot of time on producing my new book that I have lost time on doing what I love. Just drawing for the sake of drawing....
We all need to remember why we do what we do as a profession by taking time to just draw for ourselves.
I did this drawing the other night before I started on some freelance. Just an impulsive drawing of my dog Capone. I wasnt going for accurate color just really having fun with it and using various materials.
Pen,pencil,and marker on resume cardstock.

Love the gesture, even if he's standing still, can feel him breathing. Also, great shading overall. Pretty cool job.
Amen to you comment on why we do what we do by occasionally drawing from the purest of places. uninfluenced or encumbered by editors and art directors.
You never fail to infuse life into your drawings. Good dog.
